THE wife of John Holt, who died from cancer in 2001, has been rewarded for her tireless efforts to improve the quality of life and her determination to provide a sense of purpose to people affected by the disease.
Christine Holt, from Birchwood, was awarded the North West Tonight Christmas Star award In 2005, Christine set up The John Holt Cancer Support Foundation to provide assistance to anyone who has been affected by cancer.
The 56-year-old was heralded as ‘a true inspiration’ by volunteers at the foundation after helping countless people through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Joanne Reader added: “Words cannot describe the impact Chris has made in peoples’ lives. She gives them confidence not only in themselves but in the world, that there are good, kind people out there willing to help.”
