TWO of Warrington’s environmental heroes are in the running for our great and green award.
Ste Dodd is passionate about his home area.
He has been key in protecting Peel Hall from development and has taken hundreds of pictures of wildlife.
Kath Jones leads Long Lane Garden in Orford.
The charity helps give disabled people a chance to put something into their community.
Neil Martin, from Golden Gates Housing Trust, said: “Golden Gates Housing Trust are proud to be a sponsor of the 2013 Warrington Inspiration Awards.
“As the largest provider of social housing in Warrington, we take our responsibility in supporting and strengthening the local community extremely seriously.
“We are currently investing millions of pounds to improve our homes and the local environment, creating quality neighbourhoods where people want to live.
“We have also made a commitment to creating local employment opportunities and are currently working to support 450 local residents into work over the next three years.
“The trust is a leader in the delivery of affordable energy and warmth, having installed the latest in renewable technologies in over 11 per cent of its homes.
“It is therefore a privilege to be able to present the Great and Green Award to another local organisation or individual who have helped to have a positive impact on our environment.”
