THE Mayor of Warrington was given a sign of thanks by a choir that aims to spread awareness of the challenges of being deaf.
Woolston Schools Signing Choir went to the Town Hall to meet Clr Steve Wright.
The Mayor has supported some of the group’s events over the last year, and taken part in signed songs.
Children carried out two signed performances for him.
The choir was set up in 2009 with youngsters from six schools in the area taking part.
Helen Andrews is a sign language teaching assistant at Woolston Community Primary School who started the choir.
She said: “I’m extremely proud of the achievements of every member.”
