WHILE all eyes on international rugby focused on the World Cup, it is easy to forget the stars will be out next month in Warrington.

The Halliwell Jones Stadium will play host to the only International Origin fixture this year when England take on the Exiles - the best overseas players in Super League - on June 14.

Jan Souness, chairman of the Warrington RLWC2013 group, said: “This match marks the start of a very exciting six months for Warrington as it gears up to host Samoa in the Rugby League World Cup 2013 later this year.”

And Clr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council, said it will be a big night.

He said: “It is one we are really looking forward to as it officially kick starts Rugby World Cup fever here in Warrington.

“There’s always a fantastic atmosphere at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and we hope you are as excited about the next six months as we are.”

Meanwhile Samoa star Quentin Laulu-Togagae says it would be a dream come true to line-up alongside dual-code legend Sonny Bill Williams.

Williams is eligible to represent both Samoa and New Zealand at this autumn’s tournament, meaning he could play at The Halliwell Jones Stadium later this year, regardless of how who he opts for.

And Sheffield full-back Laulu-Togagae also hopes to be in Warrington for the clash against the Kiwis on October 27.

“I’ll definitely put my hand up to play for Samoa at the World Cup. It’d be a dream come true for me to play for them at a tournament like that,” he told the Warrington Guardian.

“There’s talk of Sonny Bill coming on board and that would be awesome,” said Laulu-Togagae.

“I want to play alongside the best and if I can make the team then it’d be a dream come true.”
