FIFTY mini adventurers from Warrington strapped on their walking boots and headed to Wales for Active Hope’s Adventure Academy.
Organised by the Christian charity based in Warrington, the Adventure Academy gives children the chance to explore new and exciting opportunities and experiences - even if they do spend most of the weekend soaked from head to toe.
Dan Curtis, director of Active Hope, said: “It’s all about building children’s confidence and making new friends along the way.
“The children had a great time and created valuable childhood memories which will last a lifetime.”
The young people from across Warrington, aged between eight and ten, took part in a jam-packed weekend which included rock climbing, gorge walking and swimming at Pensarn Harbour.
The activities weekend was funded by a clothes drive organised by the children which raised £1,300.
Stockton Health Methodist Church donated more than £1,000 and Cheshire Community Foundation contributed a grant of £3,600 to Active Hope.
