A SONGWRITER who has worked with Simon Cowell, Ronan Keating and Natalie Imbruglia will be among the highlights at a day of music in Penketh.

Tricia McTeague will perform at ‘Glastonferry’, the acoustic music festival at The Ferry Tavern, this weekend, after finishing her lead role in Epstein Theatre’s Heart & Soul musical.

The Liverpool musician has also supported the likes of Lionel Richie, Elton John and Pink.

Glastonferry takes place in a marquee at the Station Road pub between 1pm and 11pm on Saturday. There will be eight acts throughout the day including Ste Mak, of chart-topping BBMak, and Jim Kirkpatrick, lead guitarist with British classic rock band FM and a regular performer with Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden.

The festival promises to offer music for most tastes from rock, pop and blues to Irish and folk covers.

Andrew Mulholland, pub landlord and event organiser, said “We really want to look at developing an event programme which enhances the pub and appeals to customers.

“We are utilising a marquee to help us cope with the unpredictable British weather and deliver fantastic events in a unique setting.

“We are proud to be a pub that listens to the demands of our customers and this acoustic music festival promises to be a great allday event, featuring some really talented entertainers.”

Husband and wife team Andy and Jade have run The Ferry Tavern since 2005.

Tickets are available from £15 and can be bought at the door or online at ticketline.co.uk/acoustic-marquee-festival. For more information go to theferrytavern.com or call 791117.
