AN Orford youngster has donated 10 inches of her hair to a charity that supports children who have undergone chemotherapy.
Amy Mercer, aged 10, of Boyle Avenue, had the chop and raised more than £100 for the Little Princess Trust.
It provides wigs for children who have suffered hair loss.
Mum Tracy, aged 43, said: “She saw the charity on television a few months ago but her hair wasn’t long enough.
“Once it was long enough she decided to have it cut off to help the children.
“She did it all off her own back. I’m quite proud of her.”
The St Margaret’s Primary School pupil had the haircut at Lisa B’s Salon on Hallfields Road.
