A DAUGHTER says her pensioner dad has been left 'devastated' after his bike was stolen.
Peter Burns, aged 72, of Falmouth Drive, Penketh, had his ‘pride and joy’ stolen from his garden shed.
The incident took place between 8.30pm and 10.30pm yesterday, Thursday.
Mr Burns is a full time carer for wife Edna, aged 69, who is recovering from a stroke.
Daughter Joanne, aged 42, says it gives him a way to relax in between looking after Edna, and that the keen cyclist is at a loss without it.
She is appealing for help in returning the bike and said: “It is irreplaceable to him and we are all devastated.
“It just feels like a kick in the teeth and has upset all of us.”
The bike is a Benetto road bike, 1980s Tour de France, champagne gold in colour with blue wheels.
Anyone with information can call police on 101.
