WIGAN Warriors confirm that second row forward Gareth Hock has extended his contract with Wigan until the end of 2010.
Speaking about the news, chairman Maurice Lindsay said: "Gareth is the sort of player we want to invest in for the long term future of the club.
"We think he is a good player who will get even better with more game time.
"Gareth was out of action for 14 months during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, he had a knee reconstruction followed by a stress fracture of the leg, it doesn't get much tougher than that.
"We maintained our faith in him which is now paying off with his performances for Great Britain in the Tri-Nations Tournament."
Hock said: "It was a tough time for me when I was out of the game for so long but getting back into the side is great and I am looking forward to next season.
"Wigan is my hometown club and I want to win some trophies with the cherry and whites."
