CAN you offer a good home to a low maintenance' pet?

The Retired Greyhound Trust (RGT) is a voluntary organisation working relentlessly to find new homes for ex-racing greyhounds.

It has around 37 greyhounds in its kennels, aged between two and seven.

Retired greyhounds very rarely bark and prefer to spend most of the day curled up asleep.

Paul Clark, RGT spokesman, said: "These loveable dogs are becoming increasingly popular as pets, as people realise that they require very little exercise and have already outgrown puppy problems but can still live to be 13 or 14 years old."

Two such dogs are Fraser and Sally.

Fraser is a handsome four-year-old white and blue dog.

He is full of fun, enjoys his walks; craves the attention of people and displays endless amounts of affection.

He would be ideally suited to an active family who have the time to give him the affection and attention he deserves.

Sally is five years old and a very quiet and gentle brindle bitch. She would be ideally suited in a quiet family home or with a retired person who has the patience and time to spend with her. She is a little nervous and desperately needs to be loved.
