THIS Friday is the deadline for nominations for the Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) Appreciation of Efforts Awards 2006.

The charity will be celebrating the International Day for Disabled People on Monday, December 4, with awards presented for excellence in support, services and employment for disabled people and carers.

And the WDP is inviting members of the public to nominate an organisation or individual who they think has excelled in providing innovative or exceptional services that have helped to improve the lives of disabled people living in and around Warrington.

Winners will be invited to a presentation ceremony at Bewsey Old School where they will receive a framed certificate.

Examples of previous winners include Fledglings Day Nursery for providing good practice in supporting very young children with disabilities and Malcolm Beatie for his dedication to Warrington Hospital, the WDP and Alcoholics Anonymous.

This year's awards are supported by the Warrington Guardian, along with Warrington Borough Council, the Warrington Primary Care NHS Trust and Wire FM.

Nomination forms are available from Shopmobility on Scotland Road, Warrington Market and the Centre for Independent Living at Beaufort Street.

They can also be downloaded from disabilitypartnership.org.uk. All nominations must be in by noon.
