MORE than £50,000 has been awarded to bring a season of sci-fi spectacle to the region.
Film Hub North West Central has been given the grant from the BFI for an initiative called ‘Days of Fear and Wonder’ between October and December.
There will be sci-fi related activities at Cornerhouse cinema, Museum of Science of Industry, Grimm Fest, Anthony Burgess Foundation and Manchester Science Festival as well as Quad in Derby, They Eat Culture in Preston and Dukes cinema in Lancaster.
The BFI fund aims to support projects of ‘cultural significance’ and bring films to audiences in a ‘fresh and original way’.
Cornerhouse will be showcasing a number of iconic sci-fi films and its programme will also include a sci-fi all-nighter and a number of guest speakers.
