A GRAMMY-WINNING artist has teamed up with a celebrated UK record label.
Cooking Vinyl is working with Fantastic Negrito on the reissue of his debut album The Last Days of Oakland, named the Best Contemporary Blues Album at the Grammys when it was originally released.
Xavier Dphrepaulezz was a drug dealer in California in his teens before finding music and signing with Prince’s management.
After a slow recovery from a car crash, Xavier undertook several different musical projects. He then disappeared from the music scene only to re-emerge years later as Fantastic Negrito.
He will performing at Band On The Wall in Manchester on July 31.
