CARLTON Bistro has been sharing pictures of its new dishes after fully opening.

After a few delays in getting up and running, the eatery has launched in Sankey Street next door but one to where the original Carlton Club was for around four decades.

In its heyday in the 1970s, Carlton was one of the country’s top northern soul clubs where Rick Astley is said to have sang Never Gonna Give You Up live for the first time.

Carlton Bistro is very different but owner Claudio Stuparu, who also runs Sweet Alley in Marsh House Lane, wants it to be a place where people can share memories.

To match the venue's black and orange colour scheme, two items on the menu are the beef and gorgonzola burger – in a black bun – and the Cajun chicken burger – in an orange bun.

But Carlton throughout the day and into the evening so there is a full breakfast menu, sandwiches and paninis, steaks and mains such as chicken supreme, beef fillet and pork and lamb chops.
