THE modern society we now live in teaches children from the word ‘go’ that the exams you take at the end of secondary school dictate the rest of your life.

Yet, how many young boys and girls are actually capable of this decision independently?

Children like myself are not taught about mortgages, yet are denigrated for not understanding Shakespeare’s expressive productions or Seamus Heaney’s poetry.

The affiliation of stress and sleep deprivation in which us ‘young adults’ have come accustomed to is not only exhausting, but outrageous for us to cope with.

I believe secondary schools have entirely the wrong approach and should rather be showing compassion and understanding towards us as many more physical and emotional changes are occurring.
