PLANS to build a four-storey apartment block in the town centre have been withdrawn by the developer.
JT Design Consultancy had sought planning permission for 10 flats in a new apartment building on the corner of Winmarleigh Street and Palmyra Square South.
Six two-bedroom and four one-bedroom units would have been built on the vacant land, which is currently used as a car park.
But JT Design Consultancy formally withdrew its application for planning permission on Friday, January 4.
A number of residents, as well as the Warrington Masonic Hall, had raised concerns over the development.
Worries were raised over the car parking provision for prospective occupiers of the flats, with an 'excessive' number of apartments in the building and the development not being in-keeping with the area also being bones of contention.
