Rylands 7 Ellesmere Rangers 0
CO-MANAGER Dave McNabb says his Rylands side were “brilliant from start to finish” as they secured their most dominant North West Counties League victory of the campaign.
They had scored five goals or more in a single game eight times already this season before Saturday, but Ellesmere Rangers’ visit to Gorsey Lane saw them hit seven for the first time.
Jay White scored an excellent hat-trick as Blues kept pace with First Division South leaders Abbey Hulton, with Steve Boothman also scoring twice.
Co-manager Stuart Wellstead and Brad Williams completed the rout.
“A brilliant performance from start to finish,” said McNabb.
“Some of the football we played at times was a pleasure to watch and some of the goals scored were top-drawer.
“The quality on the ball was matched with the desire and determination to win it back when we didn’t have it.”
Blues are in Macron Cup action on Saturday when they travel to Cammell Laird 1907, kick off 3pm.
They were due to visit the same opponents in the league tonight, but that game has been postponed.
Rylands: McCall, Moran, Freeman, Kenny, Lownsborough, Lester, Gerrard (Jones), Murphy, White (Ablett), Wellstead (Williams), Boothman.
