A MENTAL health hospital has reached the finals of the ‘Oscars of the care world’.
Lea Court Treatment and Recovery Centre in Dallam has been named as a finalist in the LaingBuisson Awards.
The Hawleys Lane facility has been nominated in the rehabilitation category of the national health and social care awards.
Acting manager Allen O’Connor said: “This is a testament to the wonderful work of staff here – working closely with patients – who always go the extra mile to deliver the best outcome for the people we support.”
Ian Pritchard, acting chief executive of the hospital’s owners Alternative Futures Group, added: “These are the Oscars of the care sector.
“It is a fantastic achievement to reach the finals and great recognition of the hard work, dedication and high quality care going on in our hospitals.”
Award winners will be announced during a ceremony in London on Thursday, November 15.
