TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Rudheath this afternoon, Tuesday.
A number of caravans drove onto Belmont Road playing fields earlier today.
Cheshire West and Chester Council and the police have been informed.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At 12,53pm on Tuesday, August 14 officers were called to reports of an unauthorised encampment had arrived at a site on Belmont Road, Rudheath.
"The Cheshire West Gypsy Traveller Liaison officer has attended the site and officers from the local LPU will continue to pay passing attention to the site."
Initial police reports suggested five vans had arrived, with more on the way.
The Guardian has approached CWAC for comment.
