I am writing with regards to the feature regarding the Parr Hall. I think there may be a solution, but it involves us all.
1. Warrington Borough Council should make available the taxpayers money to provide a Community Arts Centre (from the headline in this week's Guardian, no one can argue that this is not being done).
2. Organisations made up from local musicians, actors and artists should make full use of the facilities provided and stage cultural events. Have we had the full story regarding the exodus of the amateur dramatics group?
How can a facility that successfully hosted a national touring show such as the Mighty Boosh not be up to scratch?
3. The Warrington Guardian should actively promote the events taking place there, running frequent editorials on performers and performances rather than focusing so heavily on what is happening in neighbouring cities.
4. We, the town's population, should fully support the arts in Warrington and attend the events that we have read about in the local press.
5. Next year's headline should read "Parr Hall flourishes!"
