STAFF at an office in Wilderspool collected a treasure chest of money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a pirate themed day.
Workers at Ombudsman Services, on Greenalls Avenue, donned pirate outfits, transformed their desks into ships and took part in pirate-themed activities to raise money for the annual charity event.
Lewis Shand Smith, chief ombudsman, said: “Everyone got into the spirit of the day and dug deep to raise money for the charity.
Cancer is something that many of us have been affected by in one way or another and we’re all delighted that we could do our bit to help Macmillan in what it does to support sufferers and their families.”
The service, which resolves complaints against energy, telecom and property companies, raised twice as much money than last year, with this year’s event collecting £1,500.
