THIS is the third day my child has not been able to get on the 286 bus from Cardinal Newman High School to Orford.
I have phoned both the bus station and school, but they both said we need to contact the other to complain.
Someone from the bus company explained they have received a contract to provide buses for the school, which they do, but do not know for how many children for.
My response was, how can you provide a service for something which you do not know for how many?
She could not respond to this.
We have paid for a bus pass which up to now has been a waste of money.
I have had to leave work on each of the three occasions for a total of three hours, which has cost my family £36 in wages.
It has cost me £10 each day in a taxi so a further £30.
Including the £48 per month for a bus pass is a total of £114 my family are down. In current financial circumstances, this is disgusting.
So, who is to blame – the school or bus service?
Every day, a large number of children are left behind when the parents have paid to get them home safely.
Has the school let the students down by not giving the correct information over, or has the bus company accepted money for a service it cannot provide?
I hope the two parties can get their act together for the safety and financial support of a large number of families.
