I WRITE this letter in view of the recent letters in the Warrington Guardian commenting on the town’s balance of payments deficits (Warrington Guardian, September 7).
The announcement last week of Birmingham City Council’s bankruptcy proceedings must have come as a shock, because Warrington Borough Council’s history of investments make Birmingham’s £800million deficit seem relatively small in comparison.
The size of WBC’s black hole has already been a matter of concern to the Westminster Government, and this announcement can only add further fuel to the fire of incompetence.
On a separate issue, will Warrington publish a list of buildings in the town which are likely to suffer deterioration due to RAAC concrete in their construction?
