I WAS shocked, but not altogether surprised to see Warrington Borough Council issued fines totalling £700,000 on motorists for driving down bus lanes (Warrington Guardian, March 3).
I complained about the one in Legh Street three years ago and I asked why was it necessary for this bus lane to be in operation 24/7 every day of the year, meaning if any driver has the audacity to drive down Legh Street at 3am or perhaps on Christmas Day when there are no buses running they will be fined.
This can only be seen as money grabbing by the council.
Many people are struggling financially but the council seem quite happy to take a little bit more money out of our pockets.
