WARRINGTON Borough Council’s plans for 900 apartments in the town centre must surely have made many readers do a double take (Warrington Guardian, March 3).
In as much as New Town House is still in situ, surely the existing buildings can be refurbished, rather than demolished by WBC.
If this huge, castle-like structure is demolished, the effect in terms of damage to the environment and Warrington’s reputation will be a black mark against the town’s good name for years to come.
