TO tell you the truth I was expecting more at the Time Square Christmas market.
Sadly and despite the extra entertainment the Warrington Christmas market can only be described as a damp squib.
Perhaps it is because the plaza is so big and the vendors so spread out that the few stalls that are there must see more passers-by than people stopping and buying.
The monthly Makers Markets have more buyers and, more importantly, more stalls.
It won’t be surprising that many people will spend their money in Manchester or Liverpool where there’s greater choice.
If the aim is to compete with the cities then the council needs to re-think the location and the size of future Christmas markets.
I know bigger isn’t always better – but market minimalism isn’t the answer either.
