WHAT a wonderful tribute to Ronnie Herbert but I must point out that when I was growing up in Latchford the avenue I lived in was Budworth Avenue, I lived at number 8 and Ronnie lived at number 1 with his parents, brother George and sister Barbara.
We used to play tuck and pass in the avenue with a rag ball, of course Ronnie was top notch.
The Herbert family left Budworth Avenue in the 1950s and went to an outdoor licence near the Pavilion Cinema.
One point not mentioned in your tribute was that Ronnie was faster than my idol Brian Bevan.
Keep bringing local people forward.
