SURELY the Cabinet Works in Cairo Street could have been restored to its original condition with a view to transforming the buildings into a working museum.

Thus generating revenue from tourism and putting Warrington on the map.

How sad that a famous Warrington landmark was left to deteriorate and then be demolished.

I cannot be the only Warringtonian to sigh when passing the vacant site, within a stone’s throw of the ‘cultural heart’ of Warrington.

Future generations have been deprived of a magnificent building due to a blatant act of corporate vandalism.

How sad for our great town and its inhabitants.
