LETTER: 'Warrington's Oliver Cromwell statue should be removed and melted down'
THE Oliver Cromwell statue should be removed and melted down (Warrington Guardian, January 7).
He tried to destroy the Monarchy, ruined Christmas and made the whole country miserable with his puritanical dogmatism.
I loathe the man and despise his statue, as I have done since childhood.
I don’t blame Queen Victoria for her reaction.
As a staunch Royalist myself, I feel disgusted by the image that despotic man.
