RECENT complaints in the Warrington Guardian letters page about speeding traffic are well warranted.
In 20mph areas cars are doing 30 to 40mph and in 30mph they are doing 40 to 50.
Children walking to school on the narrow pavements of side streets are scared by the noise of engines in second or third gear roaring past just inches away.
It’s difficult to know who is simply speeding or who is confused as the speed signs are too few, too small and not high enough to be seen above a parked, high sided vehicle.
What is certain is that the council and police don’t seem to care as complaints to both go ignored while traffic on the wider A roads are monitored regularly.
