IN the same week that I received a letter from Warrington Borough Council informing me that my husband’s care package was being increased by £29.45 per week in the future because of a national shortfall in the funding for adult social care, I read in the Warrington Guardian (August 13) that the council had just invested £137million on a development in Manchester.

This is in order to receive rent revenue on completion.

Together with throwing good money after bad with Redwood Bank, Birchwood Park, Hatters Row which has never been viable, not to mention issuing free green bins to be environmentally friendly then issued a charge for this service at a later date.

Could the council advise me and others how to pass on our shortfall as easily as they do?

I am a very unhappy council taxpayer.
