I REFER to your article on the council’s proposal to make the footpaths and pavements in the town centre one way to help two metre social distancing.

I really can’t see this working.

It’s not working in supermarkets, where people are ignoring the one-way system.

I was in Asda Cockhedge the other week and witnessed a female customer in her mid-20s walking down the aisle towards me in the wrong direction on at least four occasions.

She didn’t like it when I pointed her errors out to her.

I said ‘be careful you don’t fall over the no entry sign’ to another, but her reply was ‘oh thanks for telling me love’.

The public lack common sense and cannot understand simple instruction.

Another waste of money by the council.
