THE idea of people holding parties to ‘celebrate’ the end of the Second World War leaves a rather sour taste in my mouth.
Yes we should remember what happened in the war and commemorate those that served and families remember we lost.
But an excuse to blare out music on drives, have barbecues and drape Union Jacks?
I am not so sure.
I prefer a moment’s silence.
