AS one of several residents who witnessed the binman attack on Grammar School Road (Warrington Guardian, April 21), I would like to express sincere thanks to the three bin men working that day and all those continuing to provide such vital services at difficult time.
The behaviour of the unknown man was uncalled for and I do hope the binman has recovered.
The small road had notorious problems before lockdown, with visitors parking inconsiderately, often restricting access and reducing parking for residents.
I do not believe the car blocking the road that day belonged to a permanent resident, as there has been much coming and goings of cars.
Residents are collectively mindful of the parking limitations we endure.
Cllr Bowden’s call to lay blame at residents, I feel, was therefore unjust.
Please can visitors and village staff use the free, now empty, Latchford car park which is close by.
