I REFER to your article regarding the demolition of The Blackburne Arms in Orford to make way for 52 retirement apartments.
The public house is underused and occupying a brownfield site that should be used for redevelopment.
I notice Cllr Mike Hannon has piped up and stated ‘my concerns are overdevelopment and insufficient parking’.
You don’t say this when WBC are passing planning applications for other developments doyou Cllr Hannon only when it affects your patch?
What about when the former Dog and Dart public house was demolished in 2005 to make way for 44 sheltered apartments.
Does this not smack of deja vu?
This location was on a main artillery road into Warrington.
