I AM writing to bring attention to the fantastic work staff of Warrington Borough Council has done recently.

For the past few years the pathway between Cadishead and Hollins Green alongside the A57 has been getting narrower and narrower so that it was impossible to wheel a buggy along the pavement and very difficult to pass someone coming the other way.

I wrote to one of the local councillors to no effect and then had a conversation with some of the residents of Hollins Green who got together to litter pick and also to clean roadsigns.

They began a campaign which has now borne fruit as the pathway has been cleared so it is three flags wide and easy for pedestrians, cyclists and buggies to co-exist.

My sincere thanks go to the people responsible.

People are often quick to criticise and slow to thank when things go right.

I hope this letter will go some way to show that their hard work is appreciated.
