I HAVE used the new e-consult service for the first time (Warrington Guardian, February 6).
After consulting the duty pharmacist at Boots in the town centre, who said he had nothing that would deal with my infected facial pore problem, I would have to get a prescription.
The result of my request to Latchford Medical Centre is that Dr Palmer will see me on February 19, yes 12 days from today.
Even the receptionist could not believe it. After a quiet chat in the back office, she came back with an appointment at Bath Street on Saturday morning, just two days to wait.
I know that Latchford Medical Centre has a problem with prescribing antibiotics but to fob me off with such a long delay and to imply that a qualified pharmacist is wrong says a lot about how the local practice is going to misuse the new system to suit themselves.
