I REFER to your article regarding the redevelopment of the disused shop on the corner of Alderley Road and Thelwall New Road (Warrington Guardian, page 15).
Warrington Borough Council has agreed a new ground floor level shop can be built there with a ground floor flat at the back of the shop and two more flats built on the upper floors.
So potentially you have three cars belonging to the occupants of the flats.
A car or van belonging to the shop owner.
Plus the customers using the shop with vehicles.
Have the planners actually visited the site?
The site is situated at the mouth of a T-junction.
There are no parking provisions there at the moment so where are vehicles supposed to park?
Another factor is that it is on a busy road opposite a junior school.
I’ve no objection to the eyesore being removed but please let common sense prevail.
