WITH regards to the traffic problems at the Station Road/ Knutsford Road junction (Warrington Guardian, January 9).

We have great difficulty crossing Station Road at the above junction on foot due to the traffic turning in and out at all times of the day.

We urgently need a pelican crossing at this junction as there is a large footfall of elderly people from the residential area south of the canal in to Latchford village.

There were traffic lights at this junction a few years ago but they were taken away again and they did little to help pedestrians.

Problems will increase due to traffic from the 189 apartments that are being built along Station Road.

In addition, taxis are using the kiosk at the above junction and turning the pavement verge into a mud bath by parking on the pavement. Can this be stopped?
