FOR many people Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year.

But for the 7,153 people aged 65 and over in Cheshire living with dementia, their families and carers, Christmas can be difficult.

What is supposed to be a time for family, can often bring additional stress and pressures for families affected by dementia, which can cause guilt and sadness.

Keeping a loved one with dementia involved this Christmas can make a huge difference and can help them feel included and part of the festivities.

Alzheimer’s Society is here to support everyone affected by dementia through our new dementia connect service and specially trained dementia advisers.

Our Dementia Connect helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm and on weekends 10am until 4pm.

Our DementiaTalking Point online community and our website are also available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

You can call Dementia Connect on 0333 150 3456 or e-mail dementia.
