I FEEL sorry for the families in Densham Avenue, Longford.

And Marshall Avenue, Dallam, from the corner of Caldwell Avenue, down to the cul-de-sac will be next.

I have never seen a grid plunger in our avenue for years.

With a few years of leaves, stones and pebbles from fancy gardens and drives getting washed down the grid when it rains for long periods of time, the water nearly meets in the middle of the road as there is nowhere else for it to go.

With weeds growing in the gutters there is nowhere for the rain to flow away.

Can the council not see that a lot of house floods could be avoided if the street drains were cleaned more often?

We pay our poll tax and expect our roads, avenues and streets to be maintained.

We are very worried as the winter is upon us and it isn’t going to get any better.
