WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid has been railing on social media against the prorogation of Parliament as an attack on our democracy, but he himself is guilty of what I consider to be a much more serious attack.

He is preventing free speech.

He is my MP but he has blocked me from commenting on his Facebook posts and I understand others have been similarly blocked, presumably for disagreeing with his views.

I have never attacked him personally or been abusive, both of which I consider totally unacceptable.

But despite that and at a time when healthy debate couldn’t be more important, he clearly feels that he doesn’t’ want a public dialogue with his constituents if they don’t share his views.

If that is the case, democracy in Warrington South is dead and Faisal Rashid has killed it.
