SHOULD the increasing intensity of earthquakes in the Blackpool area, where fracking has recently recommenced, be a cause of concern for Warrington?
Some Coal Bed Methane (CBM) sites, such as the one approved at Woolston near the M6, will have to be fracked to sustain output when they get older.
Warrington Borough Council should campaign strongly to reverse Government licensing of CBM in Warrington and rule out the risk of triggering earthquakes centred on the supports of the Thelwall Viaduct.
