I HAVE a great concern for the amount of plastic and rubbish through into Great Sankey’s rivers and ponds.
This can be seen from walking across the bridges and along the flowing river that eventually meets with the Mersey.
Construction gates, old tyres, traffic cones and all sorts of junk can be found around the river, especially as you continue walking towards the gas pipes.
This cannot be good for the surrounding wildlife and it certainly doesn’t look appealing.
I have thought myself is there a way I can try to clean up the river but without the right skills and equipment I cannot as I fear drowning.
Many youths are seen around this area either smoking weed or causing a disturbance with their off-road motor vehicles.
The council needs to do something before it gets worse and causes more damage to our environment and it surroundings.
