I WOULD like to reply to the person who was disgruntled by the state of Penketh (Warrington Guardian, March 21).

While all of the points raised may be valid, very little of them are the responsibility of the parish council.

The surgery is run by a private operator, answerable to Warrington CCG and the NHS, the school is now an academy, ultimately answerable to the Government, the library is run by LiveWire, the chemist is private, street lighting is down to the borough council as is street cleaning.

So of all the points raised, the parish council is only really responsible for the pool.

And if a group of people want to pay to take their clothes off there, surely that is more money for the parish council?

I am not in favour or against the parish council, but I think sometimes it is helpful to deal in facts.
