REGARDING the ongoing issue of the potential closure of Stockton Heath waste disposal tip.

This issue was discussed three years ago and the conclusion was that it was a community requirement that the tip remained open as a community facility.

Now they want to close it again.

On what grounds? The tip is a well used facility by the residents of the south of Warrington.

WBC only last week voiced concerns about fly tipping and its cost to them.

This closure is really going to reduce their costs in this matter.

We do not want the streets of south Warrington to end up like the streets and alleys of Orford Lane, strewn with discarded furniture bedding and waste.

Are you trying to drag every part of the town into the gutter WBC?

Is Stockton Heath earmarked to be the next ghetto of Warrington Mr Bowden and Mr Rashid?

I also refer to your article on the reprieve of Padgate Community Centre. You can be sure if WBC or Livewire had got control of it then the centre would have been closed down within a year and the land adjacent sold for housing development.

They have a proven track record of closing community services.

The community centre has got away with it this time by the skin of its teeth only for the council to come back and bite again.

Stockton Heath waste tip is the perfect example.
