ARE residents aware that Warrington Borough Council will charge you £25 to replace a wheeled refuse bin which has become damaged over many years of use.
I have had my black bin since they were first introduced but due to the wear and tear caused by the council’s collection lorry machinery, it has been badly split for some time – but this week one of the wheels fell off.
My representations as to the cause of the damage have been rejected leaving me to pay £25 for an asset which the council website says will be theirs.
Yet another stealth tax, following on from the charges made for green bins.
