LAST November a number of your readers used your letters page to express their disappointment that the people of Warrington hadn’t supported the Festival of Remembrance at the Parr Hall in greater numbers.

Well, through your letters page, can I just let your readers know that Warrington Male Voice Choir is staging the event again this year at the Parr Hall on Saturday, November 3 starting at 7pm.

The evening will feature Warrington Male Voice Choir, The Combined Bands of The Lancashire Artillery & The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Service Cadet contingents, a Drumhead Service of Remembrance and Reflection led by The Revd Canon Paul Wilson, Terry Waite CBE, an audience sing-a-long and The Choir of Great Sankey High School and Barrow Hall College, in a move to further strengthen the involvement of young people, Festival of Remembrance, Celebration and Peace 2018 will remember and honour those who have lost their lives in conflicts, celebrate the end of the First World War and the peace that followed and help raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2018 and Combat Stress.

By the way tickets are available from Parr Hall – either from the box office or online.
