DESPITE watching Warrington Wolves’ under 19s beat their Hull KR counterparts, Paul Anderson insists there is “massive room for improvement.” for his side.

The Wire youngsters were 38-22 victors at Victoria Park, with James Hartill scoring two of their seven tries.

Morgan Burgess, Josh Lynch, Denive Balmforth, Leon Hayes and Kieron Rennox also scored tries, with goals being added by Lewis Hughes (3), Reece Briers and Luke Broadbent.

“I am happy for the boys to get the win – I felt we played some good football at times and executed some good skill to score some really nice tries,” academy head coach Anderson said.

“Unfortunately we also had some really disappointing periods in the game in regards to discipline, decision making and poor skill.

“This created pressure on ourselves and gave a good Hull KR team some good field position and opportunities to score some points.

“But we still had enough to win the game, which is credit to the players and the resolve they showed throughout the game.

“There is still massive room for improvement for each individual to reach the high standards that is required to progress.”
