WARRINGTON Wolves Women have made their first signings under new head coach Armani Sharrock.
One of them marks the return of a familiar face, with forward Grace Burnett returning to the club having turned out for them prior to the Covid pandemic.
The club have also just announced the signing of young full-back Anna Dennis from Wigan Warriors.
Warringtonian Burnett, 21, has been playing her rugby league in the Armed Forces with the RAF since debuting for The Wire in March 2020 having previously turned out for Newton Storm.
Now, she is excited to be a part of a new era under Sharrock, who has taken the reins following Lee Westwood’s decision to stand down as head coach.
“I am delighted to be back at my hometown club and looking forward to seeing the progress the club has made,” she said.
“It feels like this is a brilliant opportunity and the right time to return.
“It will be great to build relationships with a fresh team next season and playing more rugby, which is something I love to do.
“I have a good connection with Armani and some of the players who retired last season, like Amy Daniels.
“I am looking forward to making new friendships and seeing the players work for one another.
“It’s all about developing physically and mentally and building that trust with the squad and the younger players coming through.
“Hopefully, this is going to be a season to remember.”
